Service Description: Social assistance program that provides employment assistance and financial support for basic needs

Financial Assistance - Short term income assistance for the cost of shelter and basic needs including food and clothing * also offers emergency assistance for items of extreme need such as: medical supplies (diabetic supplies, surgical supplies) and medical travel and transportation

Employment Assistance - Supports to help people become and stay employed, such as job search support, basic education, employment placement, skills training, community participation and participation in substance use recovery programs * financial assistance is provided to clients to cover certain related expenses such as bus transportation, child care and clothing * services provided by local Employment Resource Centres
 
Discretionary Benefits - Financial assistance for special items of extreme need may be provided to eligible recipients
 
Learning, Earning, and Parenting (LEAP) Program - Supports to help parents complete high school, enhance their parenting skills, and prepare them to enter the workforce

Housing Links for People (HeLP) - Ontario Works recipients can contact case worker * all other applicants, call 519-631-9350, option 3, to speak with intake worker
Eligibility / Target Population: Adults and youth 16-65 years in financial need who meet eligibility requirements

Discretionary Benefits - Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program clients * may also be available to people with a low income or those in receipt of Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security or Guaranteed Annual Income Supplement
